The team:
Steve Allan – Managing Director
Steve started the company as Evolution Furniture in 2004, after working with some of the most prominent names in the industry. He started the company because he loves furniture and interior design, but felt that overall things could be improved for the customer. Steve is passionate about furniture and making sure our customers get the right advice as well as service levels that will delight.
Steve was born in Glasgow and is married with three young daughters. Having lived most of his life in London, he moved to Northamptonshire for some fresh air and countryside. He is a car fanatic, and enjoys driving and cleaning his car. He loves films and music and was a successful London DJ in the early to mid 1990’s.
Steve is also known for his bad jokes, and the ability to remember them at the most inappropriate moments. He denies that he looks like a taller Ricky Gervais (or did when he was younger anyway).
Steve Cooper - Sales Director
Steve joined Verve in 2011 after nearly 20 years in the industry. We're aware that we already have a number of Steves in the business - but we hope it won't be too confusing. This particular Steve has a wealth of knowledge from interior refurbishment, to furniture manufacturing and of course office furniture in general.
Steve Cooper is married with five children (yes, five..) and lives in Kent. He is a proud Charlton Athletic FC supporter, and enjoys eating out and spending time with his kids. He also fiercely denies that he looks anything like Ashley from Coronation Street. We'll let you decide on that. We're not convinced they weren't separated at birth.
Please don't ask Steve to reverse his car either - you could be there for some time. Again, something he will strenuously deny.
Steve Harris – Installations Manager
Steve is responsible for many of our installations and has many years of project managing furniture projects to ensure smooth operation. Steve is very methodical and his attention to detail is that of a true perfectionist.
A devoted family man, and keen fisherman he enjoys spending time at the riverside - but not as much as he'd like.
John Hagerty - Scotland office
John runs our Scottish office, and works on mainly projects in and around the Glasgow area. John was a 'mover and shaker' in the fashion world in the late 80's and is also a trained draughtsman. John has experience managing many interior and building projects, and can talk the hind legs off a donkey! And as if being a man of many talents isn't enough, he still feels he looks more than a passing resemblance to Liam Neeson. John is married with two sons.
Emily Jones - Office Manager
Emily joined the Verve Workspace team in 2010 and makes sure the office runs smoothly. As an English graduate from Leicester University she is very thorough, and is involved in ensuring customers are kept informed, and all systems run properly.
She is famous for giving her 'thumbs up' and describes herself as a 'geek'. We wouldn't know about that - but she is always cheerful, very helpful - and she really goes out of her way to do things properly. In her spare time, Emily enjoys literature, cycling, rugby and films.
Damien Doherty – Interior Contracts Manager
Damien spent many years in the Fire Service and works hard to ensure projects are run smoothly and the teams involved are working to our high standards. Sorry ladies - he doesn't wear the fireman's uniform anymore - at least not to work anyway!
Jon Sparks – Accounts and Bookkeeper
Jon makes sure that all the incoming invoices are organised properly, and that all outgoing invoices are correct - and of course paid on time!
Charles Macadam - Project Consultant
Charles works on a freelance basis for Verve and assists with strategic projects. Charles is from a very senior international corporate level and his experience is valued in helping us offer the very best to our customers.
As a Grandfather, Charles enjoys spending time with his grandchildren, and is a keen club league tennis player too. Sickeningly at 62 he has a full head of hair, and is a keen fitness enthusiast.
