What is a tambour cupboard?
A tambour cupboard can be numerous heights, but includes a ‘tambour’ door. A tambour door is made up of strips of either plastic or metal put together to make a sliding door which is flexible and can slide round tight corners into the rear carcass of a unit. The advantage of these type of cupboards is that they look great, but that they also don’t come out into the area to the front of a cupboard. This makes them a perfect choice for when you are installing office storage into areas where space is tight. There are two main types of tambour –side opening – where the doors slide to the side, and top opening where they open similar to a garage door. Tambour doors tend to be more expensive, and are most commonly in silver or grey.
